The 5th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival, a celebration of Native American Art, Music, and Culture takes place on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10am to 7pm at the Unity Park waterfront in Turners Falls, MA. A Candidates Meet & Greet will be held by the League of Women Voters of Franklin County, hosted by the Greenfield Community College library, on August 28 from 5:30-7:30pm, a time chosen for its convenience for constituents using public transit. This event will include all candidates for both Senate and House seats whose districts include Franklin County in any capacity. This event will be a final informal opportunity for voters to meet freely with candidates before the primary elections on September 4th.

Many of you have heard that the UCC Conway church building will need to be razed due to the extensive tornado damage last summer. Christine will be joining the UCC Conway congregation at a community-wide public candlelight vigil on Sunday, July 22 at 8:00PM. It will be held across the street from the church on Whately Road. Please join us as we close one chapter of our journey and say goodbye to this iconic and historic building.

Don't miss this annual hilltown tradition in Cummington at the Bryant Homestead! Bryant Day is a celebration of history, literature, nature and craft in a beautiful setting! The day will include: guided walks along the Rivulet Trail, two special historic talks by well-known authors, 19th century style dancing by Civil War era ballroom dancers, house tours and tours of the 19th century barn. Food and specialty craft vendors, quilt show and raffle, plus booths by local historical societies! Come to the hilltowns of Western MA and experience the place that inspired Bryant's nature poetry!
Join Hilltown Land Trust at Sawyer Farm in Worthington to learn how and why this family farm uses horses instead of tractors to plow and work their fields, and how they came to choose sustainable, organic farming practices to produce vegetables and meat for the local community. The event will include a talk by the farmers with a Q&A, a visit to the farmstand, and a demonstration of the horses in action! This event is suitable for adults and children ages 5+.

Party with Team Christine at the 3rd Annual Queer Beach Day fundraising event hosted by the Survivor Arts Collective. Enjoy a swim day in queer community (queer, trans, glbt+, nonbinary, all (a)genders, family friendly). There will be a $5+ donation per person (kids under 15 are free) - all proceeds will go towards the scholarship fund to support survivors in our community.

Christine stood with Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA2) in Northampton to sign a pledge supporting the total abolition of nuclear weapons. McGovern is the first voting member of Congress to take this pledge, and many other candidates for state senate and representative seats joined him.
The event was hosted by The Resistance Center for Peace and Justice (TRC). TRC is a founding partner of NuclearBan.US, a locally-based, national campaign to move the United States towards the adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (the Nuclear Ban Treaty). Both TRC and NuclearBan.US are official partners of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work on the Treaty.

Join Christine for the annual Williamsburg Fire Dept Open House! You will have a chance to meet the dedicated men and women that help protect us. You will also be able to climb into the apparatus and touch all the equipment. Also on display will be several of our antique pieces of equipment and our history books which detail the department from its start in 1848. Williamsburg Police Dept will also be on hand with safety material. And possibly an opportunity for you to check out the back seat of a police cruiser. Free Hot Dogs, popcorn and refreshments will be available.

This is your opportunity to ask questions of the candidates and learn how they intend to ensure everyone has access to healthy food.
Christine's daughter will be showing her sheep "Diamond" at this year's Hampshire County 4-H Fair at the Cummington Fairgrounds! Come celebrate the accomplishments of our 4-H youth and the knowledge and skills they have learned in working with their 4-H project animals.

Join Christine for the monthly Interfaith Jericho Walk for Immigrant Justice in Springfield, organized by the Pioneer Valley Workers Center. Following the walk, a delegation of 6 representatives with attend a 11:45 meeting with the office of Senator Elizabeth Warren asking her to join Congressman McGovern in calling for an end to ICE. The Walk begins at 1550 Main Street in Springfield at 11 a.m. For carpooling, meet at 10 a.m. at Sheldon Field in Northampton or at 10 a.m. at First Church Amherst. Bring your signs and musical instruments! Come with stories of why this matters to you.
The Leverett Food Co-op recently hired Ann Walsh as the new General Manager. As a member of the Old Creamery Co-op Board, Christine will attend to welcome Ann and hear her creative visions for improving the Co-op. The Meet & Greet will be at the co-op and is open to all.
