Christine has decided to end this campaign the way she started it — talking about the financial condition of our public schools. She announced her candidacy at the Berkshire Trail Elementary School in Cummington that was closed down several years ago to bring attention to the issues around rural education in the district and so we will have our election night party there from 7PM til the cows come home! It will be open to the public, with food, media call-ins, and (we hope) updates from the district town clerks as the votes roll in! Please join us to celebrate all that we have accomplished together!
An annual town tradition to benefit the Plainfield Volunteer Firefighters Association. The event includes a great meal, live music, and a giant raffle with prizes.
Tickets are $12 per adult and $6 for children under 12 and can be purchased from any Plainfield Firefighter or EMT.
A Candidates Meet & Greet will be held by the League of Women Voters of Franklin County, hosted by the Greenfield Community College library, on August 28 from 5:30-7:30pm, a time chosen for its convenience for constituents using public transit. This event will include all candidates for both Senate and House seats whose districts include Franklin County in any capacity. This event will be a final informal opportunity for voters to meet freely with candidates before the primary elections on September 4th.
The seven Democratic candidates running in the September Democratic primary for representative from the 1st Franklin District (Steve Kulik's seat) will share where they stand on the issues. Each candidate will have three minutes for opening remarks.
Indivisible Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Democratic Committee will each get four questions of the candidates, before it's opened to questions from the audience. Candidates will be limited to one-minute responses.

Christine will be joining the UCC Conway congregation at a community-wide public candlelight vigil on Sunday, July 22 at 8:00PM. It will be held across the street from the church on Whately Road. Don't miss this annual hilltown tradition in Cummington at the Bryant Homestead! Bryant Day is a celebration of history, literature, nature and craft in a beautiful setting! The day will include: guided walks along the Rivulet Trail, two special historic talks by well-known authors, 19th century style dancing by Civil War era ballroom dancers, house tours and tours of the 19th century barn. Join Hilltown Land Trust at Sawyer Farm in Worthington to learn how and why this family farm uses horses instead of tractors to plow and work their fields, and how they came to choose sustainable, organic farming practices to produce vegetables and meat for the local community. Christine stood with Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA2) in Northampton to sign a pledge supporting the total abolition of nuclear weapons. McGovern is the first voting member of Congress to take this pledge, and many other candidates for state senate and representative seats joined him.
The event was hosted by The Resistance Center for Peace and Justice (TRC). TRC is a founding partner of NuclearBan.US, a locally-based, national campaign to move the United States towards the adoption of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (the Nuclear Ban Treaty). Both TRC and NuclearBan.US are official partners of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work on the Treaty.

Also on display will be several of our antique pieces of equipment and our history books which detail the department from its start in 1848. Following the walk, a delegation of 6 representatives with attend a 11:45 meeting with the office of Senator Elizabeth Warren asking her to join Congressman McGovern in calling for an end to ICE.
